Who can enter the competition?
Microbreweries from across the country are welcome to participate in Brew Off. However, transportation of the kegs to the venue via proper excise channels is their sole responsibility.

How many beers can we enter?
Each brewery can enter up to two beers. These entries need to be either in the form of a 20L keg or multiple growlers/crowlers amounting to at least 9L of beer.

Brew Off employs a comprehensive judging approach: BJCP Style Guidelines: Beers will be evaluated based on the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) standards, focusing on aroma, appearance, flavour, mouthfeel, and overall impression. Marketing Pitch: Brewers will present their beers, explaining their inspiration and the rationale behind the recipe, particularly its feasibility and how it aligns with a potential collaboration with Simba. Scores from both the BJCP evaluation and the marketing pitch will determine the winner.

There are no strict restrictions on ingredients or styles. We encourage creativity and innovation. However, the beer must be of high quality and align with general brewing standards. What is the deadline for registration?
Entries must be submitted no later than 16th July 2024. This gives us ample time to organise and ensure a smooth competition process. Detailed submission guidelines will be provided upon registration.

Winner will be announced at the end of the event after all beers have been judged and any necessary re-tastings have been completed. The results will also be posted on our social media platforms and distributed through press releases.

Your entries must arrive at Woodside T minus 2 days before the competition date. To comply with regulations, all submitted beers must be shipped through the proper excise channels. All costs, responsibilities, and forms fall under the microbrewery and are not the responsibility of Simba.
