Competition and Organizers
We, SIMBA, the craft of Sona Beverages Pvt. Ltd., is pleased to announce the commencement of the 'Simba Brew - Off', a prestigious beer quality competition. As the organizers, we are excited to invite participants to showcase their brewing skills at a venue that will be revealed as per the competition schedule.
2.
Acceptance
By participating in the competition, you are agreeing to the Terms & Conditions of the Simba Brew-Off competition and confirm that you are eligible as per the below mentioned Eligibility Criteria under clause 3(a).
3.
Competitor & Eligibility
The competition is open to Microbreweries from across the country.
4.
Registration
a.
The deadline for submitting beer registrations for the competition is the latest on 16th July 2024.
b.
Registration shall be done solely on the online forms issued by the organizers.
c.
Registrations received after the specified deadlines will not be accepted for the competition unless the organizers extend the deadline.
d.
The organizers may make exceptions to this rule in justified cases.
e.
Receipt of registrations shall be confirmed by the organizers.
f.
Participants are solely responsible for covering the costs of registration.
5.
Beer Samples
a.
The Competitors shall submit the beer samples either in the form of 20L keg or multiple growlers / crowlers amounting to at least 9L of beer.
b.
The Competitor must guarantee that the specified quantity of beer is readily available at the venue at the designated time.
c.
A beer cannot be judged if there is not a sufficient quantity of beer samples available due to breakage during shipment. In such cases, the organizer is entitled to request further beer samples. The participants bear the costs and risk of dispatch.
d.
There are no strict restrictions on ingredients or styles. We encourage creativity and innovation. However, the beer must be of high quality and align with general brewing standards.
e.
The transportation of the kegs to the venue via proper excise channels and any other excise registrations is the sole responsibility of the Competitors.
f.
The organizer shall not be held liable for acts of minor negligence.
6.
Judging Category & Procedure
a.
The Brew Off employs a comprehensive judging approach:
i.
The beers will be judged as per the BJCP Style Guidelines: Beers will be evaluated based on the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) standards, focusing on aroma, appearance, flavor, mouthfeel, and overall impression.
ii.
Marketing Pitch: Brewers will present their beers, explaining their inspiration and the rationale behind the recipe, particularly how it aligns with a potential collaboration with Simba.
Scores from both the BJCP evaluation and the marketing pitch will determine the winner.
b.
Participants may only enter one beer in each category of the competition.
c.
One and the same beer may only participate in one category of the competition. A beer may not be entered in various/several categories.
d.
The Winner will be announced at the end of the event after all beers have been judged and any necessary re-tastings have been completed. The results will also be posted on our social media platforms and distributed through press releases.
7.
Brand marks/labels
The organizer i.e. Sona Beverages Pvt. Ltd. is the sole owner of the branded mark and label ‘SIMBA’ and ‘SIMBA Brew-Off’ the illustrations for which are attached as an integral part of these competition rules. The branded marks and labels are referred to below as the "trademark".
8.
IP Rights (Trade Marks)
SIMBA shall have the authority to use/promote the relevant trademarks of the competitors for competition-related purposes.
9.
Data Protection and Publicity
The Competitor agrees that any personal information that he/she provide when entering the competition will be used by SIMBA for the purposes of administering the competition.
10.
Limitation of Liability
SIMBA accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any Competitor as a result of participating in the competition.
11.
Procedure for Production and Promoting the Winner Brew
a.
The winner as decided by the Judges will be entitled to collaborate with SIMBA and co-create a batch of beer at SIMBA Brewery located in Chhattisgarh in the stipulated quantity scale with Simba that’ll be distributed in Goa, along with a ₹3 lakh cash prize.
b.
The market and the market access strategy, which includes promotional activities, will be regulated by SIMBA. Detailed instructions will be provided before commencement, and a separate agreement will be signed between SIMBA and the successful Competitor for the entire procedure.
12.
General Terms
SIMBA reserves the right to cancel the competition or amend these terms and conditions at any time and without prior notice.
